These Terms & Services (“Terms”) govern access to tjwhomeservices.com (the “Site”) and any home improvement inquiry, estimate conversation, planning package, or related service offered by TJW Home Services (“TJW,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site, submitting a form, or requesting work, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please leave the Site and do not send personal information.
The Site is a static presentation of our craft, process, and typical scopes. It is not a booking engine, a live inventory of crews, or a guarantee that a particular calendar slot exists. All project work is confirmed only after a written understanding is accepted by both parties.
TJW Home Services provides residential home improvement services. Typical work includes kitchen remodeling, bathroom renovation, interior painting, flooring, carpentry and millwork, electrical upgrades associated with renovations, plumbing and fixture installation associated with renovations, roofing and gutter work, exterior improvements, and home additions. We may also provide design guidance, material schedules, and project coordination so multiple trades can complete a room as one story.
We do not offer emergency dispatch through this Site. We do not publish a calling number or a street address here. Correspondence begins with the forms on the Site. A representative reviews submissions and contacts you using the details you provide.
You represent that you are of legal age to form a binding arrangement and, if you request work on a property, that you are the owner or have authority from the owner to discuss and approve improvements. If you are an agent, designer, or relative acting for a homeowner, you must say so in your message. We may pause a conversation until authority is clear, because demolition, plumbing, and structural decisions cannot be made on an assumption.
Prices shown on the Site, including Basic, Standard, and Business planning packages, are starting illustrations. They help you compare ambition. They are not a bid for your house. Existing conditions — hidden water damage, outdated wiring, uneven subfloors, asbestos-containing materials, or unusual access — change cost and time.
Any figure we later send by message is an estimate based on information you supplied (photos, measurements, descriptions). Until a written scope is accepted, figures may be revised when we see the rooms in person or when a closed wall is opened. Allowances for tile, stone, fixtures, appliances, and hardware are not unlimited; if you select finishes above the allowance, the difference is yours.
We do not hold material prices indefinitely. Stone, lumber, and specialty fixtures can move between the day you approve a finish and the day it is ordered. We will tell you if a specified item is delayed or discontinued and will offer an equal alternative before substituting.
The written scope is the map. It lists rooms, trades, materials, exclusions, and the sequence we expect. Work that is not listed is not included, even if it seems related. Examples of common exclusions unless expressly written: furniture moving beyond ordinary protection, landscaping restoration, painting of rooms adjacent to the project, appliance purchase, window treatments, and repair of defects discovered behind finishes that were not visible at estimate.
If you ask for extra work — a different faucet, an added sconce, a wider island — we will describe the change, the cost, and the effect on the calendar before performing it. Verbal “while you are here” requests are still changes. Our crews are instructed not to expand scope without that written note, because surprise extras damage trust even when the extra is beautiful.
You agree to provide reasonable access to the work areas, to keep children and pets at a safe distance from tools and openings, and to tell us about known hazards (knob-and-tube remnants, previous leaks, fragile plaster, shared walls). You agree to decide finishes by the dates we set so millwork and stone can be ordered. Delay in selections is a common reason calendars slip; we will not compress a waterproofing cure or a paint dry-time to recover a late decision.
You remain responsible for items you supply: appliances that do not fit the opening, fixtures that arrive damaged, or furniture you asked us not to move. We will protect floors and adjacent rooms as specified; we cannot protect against pre-existing wear that was already in the house.
Most of our work happens in occupied homes. We use floor protection, dust control appropriate to the trade, and daily tidy-up. Construction is still construction: noise, brief water shutoffs, and rooms taken out of service will occur. We will outline which rooms must be vacated and for how long. Kitchens and baths often require a temporary arrangement; we can discuss a simple cooking station but we cannot promise a hotel-level substitute kitchen unless that temporary setup is in the scope.
If we discover a condition that is unsafe — active leak, compromised structure, overloaded electrical — we will stop the affected task and explain options. Continuing as if the house were sound would be a disservice.
Where a permit is required for the work you requested, we will say so in the scope and identify who files it. Design drawings we provide are for construction coordination and finish harmony. They are not engineering stamps unless a licensed professional is separately engaged. If an inspector or engineer requires a change, the scope and price may change accordingly. We will not conceal work that should be seen by an inspector.
We stand behind the workmanship we control. If a joint we made fails, a tile we set releases, or a paint film we applied fails under ordinary household use within the period stated in your written understanding, we will repair the defect. This limited remedy does not cover wear, abuse, lack of maintenance, standing water left unattended, movement of the building, or materials installed contrary to manufacturer instructions at the homeowner’s insistence.
Manufacturers of stone, fixtures, appliances, and coatings provide their own warranties. We will help you start a manufacturer claim when the issue is a product defect, but we do not enlarge those warranties. Natural materials vary: wood grain, stone veining, and handmade tile will not match a small sample perfectly. Variation is not a defect.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TJW’s liability for any claim arising from Site use or from a project shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses such as temporary housing, lost wages, or delayed events, except where the law does not allow that limit. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for fraud or for personal injury caused by our negligence.
Payment schedules, if any, will appear in the written understanding for a project. Planning packages shown on the Site are typically due when you ask us to begin that planning work. Deposits for materials are used to order those materials; they are not a general retainer you can casually reclaim after stone has been cut. If you cancel after fabrication has started, the cost of that fabrication and restocking, if restocking is even possible, is yours.
If you cancel a request before we have visited or ordered anything, you may simply stop writing. There is no fee for sending a form and changing your mind. If a visit was scheduled and you cancel with very little notice, we may ask to reschedule rather than repeat travel-heavy preparation at no cost.
We photograph work in progress and completed rooms for quality control and, with your permission, for our portfolio on this Site. We will not publish faces of children or documents left in view. If you do not want your home shown, tell us in writing before photography for marketing begins. Job-site photos used only to coordinate trades remain part of the project file.
Text, layout, logo, and original graphics on the Site belong to TJW Home Services or our licensors. You may view and share links to public pages. You may not copy the Site as a template for another contractor, scrape content, or present our project photos as your own work. Third-party photographs of materials or lifestyles remain the property of their authors; we use them to illustrate typical home improvement settings.
Project images depict work we performed or rooms of a type we regularly deliver. Lighting, styling, and camera lenses affect how a kitchen looks online. Visit comparable finishes in person when color-critical decisions remain.
Articles, galleries, and service descriptions are general information. They are not structural, electrical, or plumbing advice for your particular house. Do not cut a joist, move a drain, or load a wall because a blog paragraph made it sound simple. Ask a qualified professional to look at the actual condition.
Forms on the Site are client-side. Submitting a form shows a confirmation message in your browser. It does not by itself create a contract, reserve a crew, or prove we received a file on a server. If you do not hear from a representative, send the inquiry again or use another published channel if one is later provided. Do not include payment card numbers in message fields.
You agree not to misuse the Site: no automated scraping that degrades service, no uploading of malware, no impersonation of another homeowner, and no abusive or unlawful content in message fields. We may ignore or delete submissions that appear fraudulent or harassing.
Social sharing icons open third-party services (for example, a network’s share dialog). Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for content or data handling on those sites. Links are provided for convenience so you can tell a neighbor about TJW.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect through forms and newsletters and how we use it. Together with these Terms it is the understanding for Site use. If the two documents ever conflict on personal data, the Privacy Policy controls for that topic.
If you subscribe, you ask us to send occasional notes about home improvement, finish care, and company news. You can stop those messages through the unsubscribe page. Transactional replies about a project you already requested are not the same as marketing mail and may continue until the conversation ends.
We may update pages, packages, and these Terms as our services evolve. The date at the bottom of this page is the guide. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms for future visits. Existing signed project documents are not rewritten by a website edit; they remain as signed unless both parties agree otherwise.
If a court finds one clause unenforceable, the rest still apply. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any written project understanding are the entire agreement for their respective subjects. Informal comments on a job site do not amend them. Headings are for reading comfort only.
